Hi Cassie.

Congratulations on deciding to learn guitar. It's a lot of fun.

I built a high quality acoustic guitar and I've been playing over 40 years.

There are a lot of things to consider when you buy your first guitar such as how much you want to spend, what kind of sound you want, and how easy a guitar plays. Buying your first guitar can make or break your guitar playing future, so I wrote a large section about buying a beginner guitar on my website for beginners. It's packed with info and diagrams to help you buy a guitar that you can enjoy for years.

You will need a guitar, a tuner (you can tune your guitar free on my website) and some picks to start playing. It would also help to have a guitar case, a strap and eventually a capo so you can play easier in different keys.

It's wise to understand as much as you can about guitars before you actually buy one. Buying a guitar that's not suitable for you can get you to quit playing real quick.

Good Luck Cassie, and have lots of fun.
